Humboldt Softball team in 11-1 victory at Manson

The No. 5 ranked Humboldt softball team improved to 3-0 on the young season by clubbing Manson-NW, 11-1 in Manson Thursday night. Humboldt clubbed 22 hits in the game with Kendal Clark, Carlie Thompson and Mady Lange each had four hits to power Humboldt. Ellie Jacobson earned the win pitching with 11 strikeouts.

Humboldt opened North Central Conference play Wednesday night by shutting out Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, 10-0. The Wildcats scored their 10th run with two out in the bottom of the fifth inning to end the game early.

The Wildcats clubbed 11 hits on the night with Carlie Thompson leading the way by going 3-for-4 at bat with two RBI and two runs scored. Jori Hajek socked a 2-run home run and Ashlyn Clark and Kendal Clark each had two hits for the Wildcats.

Humboldt will visit Webster City on Friday, May 25, in another key conference game.
