98 graduates received diplomas in Humboldt

Brook Hjelmeland and Lizzie Tecklenburg were named Valedictorians of the Humboldt High School graduating Class of 2018 at commencement ceremonies held Sunday afternoon, May 20, in the high school gymnasium. Salutatorian honors went to Meg Grice and Tabitha Jergens. Gabriella Kent and Trevor Satern were awarded the Marvyl Friesth Award and their names will be added to the plaque in the Humboldt High School cafeteria.
Silver Cord Award recognition: Zach Collins, Robert Monson, Morgan Nehring and Amber Wittrock.
This year’s graduating class has 98 members and 17 are in National Honor Society. Twenty-one students earned a 3.0-3.499 Grade Point Average during their four years at Humboldt High School.
A select few, finished their high school career with a grade point average above 3.5, they include: Abigail Collins, Zach Collins, Rachel Darling, Brianna Jenson, Gabriella Kent, Landon Kluender, Sydney Lane, Madysen Minor, Morgan Nehring, Hannah Nielsen, Zachary Packard, Cassondra Peyton, Lisa Rodriguez, Catherine Ruzicka, Emily Schaffer, Joe Shaner, Isaac Thurm, and Amber Wittrock.
