Wildcat baseball team off to 2-0 start

The Humboldt High baseball team is off to a 2-0 start to their season after posting victories over East Sac County (9-6) on May 22 at home and on May 24 at Cherokee (10-2).

An eight-run fifth inning broke the game open for Humboldt in their victory over the Braves of Cherokee.

A four-run fourth inning and Colby Clarken's four-hit pitching led Humboldt in their victory over East Sac. Humboldt produced nine hits at bat as Joey Busse, Owen Newton and Reese DeWinter each had two hits to pace the Wildcats.

Humboldt will play at Ogden on Friday, May 25. The Wildcats will play in the Remsen tournament on Saturday, May 26. Humboldt is at Fort Dodge St. Edmond on May 30 in their North Central Conference opener.
