Carlson, McCartan compete in state golf

Frances Carlson (left) and Kenzie McCartan both finished with a two-day total of 200 to tie for 58th in the Class 3A Girls State Golf Tournament at Coldwater Links in Ames.
Humboldt’s Kenzie McCartan finished 48th and Frances Carlson was 49th in the Class 3A state golf tournament in Ames at Goldwater Links earlier this week.
Carlson finished the second day with a 105 over 18 holes. She shot 95 on opening day and finishes with a 58-over 200. McCartan, who shot a 100 on the first day, also carded a 100 on day two to finish at 200. Gilbert standout Britta Snyder was meet medalist with a 142 over both days.
