Humboldt baseball team upended by No. 7 Boone, 12-4

The Humboldt baseball team slipped to 6-8 overall after they fell to No. 7 ranked Boone, 12-4 on June 7 in Humboldt.

Humboldt fell to 2-2 in conference play after falling 11-4 at Algona on June 6. Algona used a seven-run fifth inning to take commend of the game.

Humboldt evened its record at 6-6 overall on the season by drubbing the visiting Forest City Indians, 15-1 on June 5 in Humboldt. Reese DeWinter pitched five innings of four-hit ball to lead the Wildcats, who totaled 15 hits as Isaac Thurm, Jacob Thurm and Cade Witzke each had two hits for Humboldt.

WILDCATS 8, HAMPTON-DUMONT 1
Humboldt got back on the winning track Monday night (June 4) by stopping Hampton-Dumont, 8-1 in North Central Conference action in Humboldt. Cade Witzke earned the win pitching for Humboldt as he moved to 3-0 tossing a 2-hitter. Humboldt improved to 2-1 in the North Central Conference with the victory.

Humboldt will be off until June 11 when they visit Clarion-Goldfield-Dows.
