Wildcat softball team clinches share of NCC Championship!

The No. 5 ranked Humboldt softball team clinched a share of the North Central Conference championship by shutting out Algona, 5-0 Wednesday night (June 27) in Humboldt. The victory pushed the Wildcats' season record to 25-3 overall, 11-1 in the NCC. Humboldt can win the league title outright with victories in their final two games of the season this week. Humboldt visits Clear Lake on Thursday, June 28, for an afternoon game with the Lions. The Wildcats travel to Iowa Falls on Friday, June 29, to end their regular season. Ellie Jacobson pitched seven innings of four-hit ball for Humboldt. Ashlyn Clark was 3-for-3 at bat and Mady Lange 2-for-3 for Humboldt's 10-hit attack.

Humboldt 12, Pocahontas Area 1
Humboldt pounded Pocahontas Area for 10 his and Ellie Jacobson pitched a 3-hitter to lead the Wildcat softball team past the visiting Indians, 12-1 in five innings on June 26 in Humboldt. The Wildcats, 24-3 overall, got doubles from Jacobson, Kendal Clark and Carlie Thompson.

Humboldt 11, Hampton-Dumont 0
The No. 5 ranked Humboldt softball team maintained their North Central Conference lead by blanking Hampton-Dumont, 11-0 in five innings on Monday, June 25 at Hampton. Humboldt clubbed 13 hits in the victory as Ellie Jacobson pitched a 3-hitter with eight strikeouts for Humboldt. Jacobson and Carlie Thompson each had two hits at bat for Humboldt. Humboldt improved to 23-3 overall on the year, 10-1 in conference play.

Humboldt opens Class 3A regional tournament play at home on Tuesday, July 3, when they host Pocahontas Area in a first round game.
