Humboldt softball team claims outright NCC championship!!

Humboldt's No. 5 ranked softball team closed out its regular season with an impressive, 13-0 victory at Iowa Falls-Alden in five innings Friday night, June 29. The Wildcats blasted 10 hits and Ellie Jacobson pitched a 2-hitter for the Wildcats, who are now 27-3 overall, 13-1 in the North Central Conference. Carlie Thompson was 3-for-4 at bat with three runs scored and Kyah Arnold was 2-for-3 to spark the Wildcat batting order.

Humboldt 13, Clear Lake 3
Humboldt claimed the North Central Conference championship in outright fashion Thursday afternoon by pounding the Clear Lake Lions, 13-3 in six innings at Clear Lake. The victory pushed Humboldt's season record to 26-3, 12-1 in conference play.. It also marks the third straight year for Humboldt in winning the NCC crown.

Carlie Thompson homered and doubled and Kendal Clark hit a grand slam home run to power the Wildcats. Ashlyn Clark was 3-for-4 at bat.

Humboldt will host Pocahontas Area in a first round Region 2 tournament game on July 3 at 7 p.m.
