Humboldt baseball team wins 6th straight!

The Humboldt baseball team won its sixth straight game by edging Spencer, 7-6 in non-conference play in Humboldt on July 6. The victory moved Humboldt's overall record to 16-13.

Humboldt picked up another non-conference victory by turning back Bishop Garrigan of Algona, 5-4 on July 5 in Humboldt.

In a preview of their district tournament opener, Humboldt handed Clear Lake a 9-4 setback on July 5 in a June 20 makeup game played at noon in Clear Lake. The triumph moved the Wildcats' conference record to 8-5.

Humboldt traveled to Manson on July 3 and rolled to a 16-5 non-conference victory over the Cougars.

Humboldt boys edge Webster City, 3-2
The Humboldt baseball team made it a season sweep of Webster City Monday night (July 2) by edging the Lynx, 3-2. Humboldt scored two runs in the sixth inning to erase a 2-1 Lynx lead that stood for four innings. Jacob Thurm pitched a complete game by tossing a two-hitter for Humboldt. He had no walks or strikeouts.

Humboldt hosts Iowa Falls-Alden on July 9 and visit Storm Lake on July 10 to close out their regular season.

Humboldt begins Class 3A district tournament play against Clear Lake on Friday, July 13 in a 5 p.m. game at Webster City.
