Classes beginning for 2018-19 school year

Taft Elementary School Principal George Bruder and Media Associate Joyce Bruder sit in the spacious Taft Elementary School media center, part of the new addition to the building completed by Sande Construction this summer. The new addition includes a conference room, art center, music room, STEM studio and Talented and Gifted room, as well as additional storage and new lockers throughout the building. Classes for the 2018-19 school year are about to start.
St. Mary School
Families wishing to register students at St. Mary School in Humboldt may contact Ms. Davis at the school office (515) 332-2134. School office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuition and fees are due Sept. 1. Parent-student-teacher conferences are Aug. 23-24.
St. Mary School provides a Catholic education for students in preschool and prekindergarten through sixth grade.
Classes at St. Mary School start Monday, Aug. 27.
The GC-B District Picnic takes place on Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 5-6:30 p.m. First day of classes will be Thursday, Aug. 23, at 8 a.m.
There will be a three-year-old preschool parent meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at 4:30 p.m.
Humboldt open houses are set for Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the middle school, 6-7:30 p.m. at the high school with ninth grade orientation starting at 6 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
There will be no open houses at Mease and Taft Elementary because of individually scheduled parent-teacher conferences on Aug. 23-24.
Preschool (EC-4) home visits will be Aug. 21-24.
School starts for grades 5-12 on Thursday, Aug. 23. Grades pre-k through fourth grade start school on Monday, Aug. 27.
Fifth grade parent/student computer night is Tuesday, Aug. 28, from 5-6 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
Twin Rivers
Twin Rivers K-5 students are expected to join their parents for conference time, which will occur on Thursday, Aug. 23, or Friday, Aug. 24.
First day of school for Pre-K and four-year-olds as well as K-5 students will be Monday, Aug. 27. Preschool begins at 8 a.m. K-5 students start at 8:15 a.m.
First day of classes is Friday, Aug. 24.
