Breaking news! HHS Homecoming Court announced


The 2018 Humboldt High School Homecoming Court has been announced. Queen candidates include, front row (l to r): Ashlyn Clark, Arielle Naeve, Ebonie Bakken, Elizabeth Hildreth, Rachel Copper and Isabella Luu. King candidates include (back row): Hudson Gargano, Calvin Carlson, Carter Holm, Owen Terwilliger, Joseph Kunert and Noah Helmer. Humboldt High School Homecoming Week will be celebrated next week.
Thursday Thrill Night activities will take place from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20. Free activities take place from 5-8 p.m. Some new activities include rock wall, Carlson bouncy house, cheerleading camp and middle school football scrimmage at 6 p.m. There will be a raffle at 7:45 p.m. with eight Grand Prizes valued at more than $100 each. Raffle tickets will be available only at Thursday Thrill Night (no presales). Meal cost is $5, which includes a hamburger, chips, cookie, drink, plus one raffle ticket.
Dog tags will be available for $5. Pre-sales are available at each of the schools in the school office.
Friday, Sept. 21, homecoming events include a pep assembly at 2 p.m. in the high school gym and the parade at 2:30 p.m. The parade route starts at Taft Elementary and proceeds south on Taft Street to Sumner Avenue, then east on Sumner Avenue to 4th Street, then north to 2nd Avenue North and back to Taft Elementary.
Homecoming coronation will take place at halftime of the Humboldt football game against Boone.
Dress up days for homecoming week include: Monday, safari; Tuesday, old versus young (freshmen/sophomore dress up as babies while juniors and seniors dress up as 55 plus); Wednesday, glow up (hang an old picture of yourself around your neck, then dress up like it), and Thursday, Disney theme.
Homecoming is planned by the HHS Student Senate. Profits will be split between Humboldt Public Health and HHS Student Senate activities.
