Wildcat boys advance to state cross country!

Led by top 10 finishes from Quinton Orr and Joe Kunert, the Humboldt High boys' cross country team advanced to the Class 3A state cross country championships by placing second in a qualifying meet at Spencer on Oct. 18. The Wildcats finished with 79 team points to finish behind first-place Sergeant Bluff-Luton at 76. MOC-Floyd Valley was third with 103 as the top three schools advance to the state meet in Fort Dodge on Oct. 27 at Lakeside Golf Course.

Orr finished first overall in 16:28 and Kunert was eighth in 17:11 to pace the Wildcats. Devon Coon ran 18th in 17:42. Humboldt also had Eric Wittrock 20th, Noah Helmer 32nd, Nolan Jergens 45th and Calvin Carlson 65th to round out their placings.
