Humboldt wrestlers hold off Clear Lake, 38-29

The ninth ranked Humboldt wrestling team held off No. 14 Clear Lake, 38-29 in a key North Central Conference dual inside the Humboldt gym on Thursday, Jan. 3. The victory moved Humboldt's record to 15-1 overall, 4-1 and second in the NCC dual standings.

Clear Lake slipped to 3-2 in the NCC. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows is first at 5-1.

The Wildcats got victories from Joey Busse at 145 (TF), Braxden Scott at 182 (pin), Joel Osborn at 195 (12-10), Justin Jones at 285 (pin, 0:18), Dylan Vaudt at 106 (pin), Cresten Craven at 120 (7-4), Colby Clarken at 126 (4-1) and Timmy Larson at 138 (pin).

Humboldt will compete in the Atlantic tournament on Saturday, Jan. 5.
