No. 4 Clear Lake runs past Humboldt girls, 66-20

No. 4 ranked (Class 3A) Clear Lake used a stifling pressure defense and pulled away late in the first half for a 66-20 varsity girls' basketball victory over Humboldt on Friday night (Jan. 4) in the Humboldt gym.

The North Central Conference victory moved the first-place Lions to 7-3 overall, 5-0 in the NCC. Humboldt is 3-7 overall, 0-6 in the North Central Conference. Sara Faber scored 20 points and Julia Merfeld netted 11 to pace the Lions. Kendal Clark scored six to pace Humboldt. She was backed by Mady Lange with four and Jayda Hoefer with three.

Next home action for Humboldt will be Jan. 11 against Webster City in another NCC contest.
