Lynx hold off Humboldt boys at the buzzer, 57-54

Webster City withstood a second half rally by the Humboldt boys' basketball team and held on for a 57-54 victory over the Wildcats inside the Humboldt gym on Friday, Jan. 11.

Calvin Carlson scored 17 points and Jacob Thurm netted 11 to pace Humboldt. Sam Fischer added eight and Jamison Heinz seven for the Wildcats, who slipped to 5-6 overall, 3-3 in the North Central Conference. Carter Neuroth scored 13 to lead the Lynx. Dylan Steen added 11 and Drake Doering made 10.

Humboldt nearly sent the game into overtime when Carlson's 3-point shot from the top of the key at the buzzer bounced off the front of the rim.
