Snow emergency issued for Humboldt


A snow emergency was issued for Humboldt from 1 p.m. Tuesday until 7 a.m. Wednesday. All vehicles should be moved from city streets during this time period.

The city of Humboldt has issued a snow emergency from 1 p.m. Tuesday to 7 a.m. Wednesday. That means that all parked vehicles on residential streets should be moved off the street during the emergency. A winter storm warning was issued for Humboldt County until midnight Tuesday with the possibility of some freezing rain and 4-7 inches of new snow. There was some freezing mist early Tuesday and light snow Tuesday afternoon. Humboldt city residents are reminded that snow from sidewalks should be removed within 12 hours after snowfall in commercial districts and within 24 hours from sidewalks in residential districts. Also, it is against the law to blow or shovel snow into the street.
