Wildcat boys 5th in 3A sectional golf

A fifth-place finish in the Class 3A Sectional tournament closed the book on the 2019 golf season for the Humboldt boys.
Competing in a meet held at Landsmere Golf Course at Orange City on May 9, the Wildcats finished with a total of 362 strokes. Spencer was the team champion with 319. Spirit Lake shot 331 and MOC-Floyd Valley was third at 332. All three teams advance to the district meet in Spencer on May 17.
Wildcat senior Jack Arndt led Humboldt with a two-round total of 82. Gabe Gidel carded an 86.

Wildcats 3rd in NCC golf tournament
Led by Hudson Gargano's 83, the Humboldt boys' golf team placed third in the North Central Conference tournament held on Monday, May 6 at Mason City Country Club.

The Wildcats finished with 341 strokes. Clear Lake was the team champion with 322 and Webster City was second with 331. Fort Dodge St. Edmond was one shot behind Humboldt at 342 to lead the eight-team field of schools.

Jamison Heinz shot an 84 for Humboldt and Gabe Gidel added an 86. Jack Arndt carded 88.
