Humboldt baseball team goes 2-1 on opening week

The Humboldt baseball team went 2-1 on opening week of their 2019 campaign.

The Wildcats edged the Cherokee Braves at home on May 23, 2-1. Jacob Thurm pitched a one-hitter and struck out 12 to power the Wildcats.

Humboldt traveled to Remsen last Saturday, May 25, and went 1-1 in the Remsen St. Mary's tournament. Humboldt outslugged St. Mary's 15-14 in the first game. The Wildcats fell to unbeaten Kingsley-Pierson 8-7 in the second game.

The Wildcats host Ogden on Wednesday, May 29.
