Boone tops Humboldt boys, 8-2

Boone jumped out to a 6-0 lead after three innings and went on to down Humboldt, 8-2 in non-conference baseball in Boone on June 6. The loss dropped the Wildcats' season record to 7-4 overall.

Humboldt in 14-5 victory at Clarion
Humboldt slugged nine hits and got a 10-strikeout pitching performance from Hudson Gargano en route to a 14-5 victory over Clarion-Goldfield-Dows in five innings on June 5 in Clarion in North Central Conference baseball action. Jacob Thurm and Owen Newton each had two hits for Humboldt while Sawyer Savery hit a home run. Humboldt is now 7-3 overall, 1-1 in conference play.

Humboldt pounds Forest City, 21-4
Humboldt got back on the winning track Tuesday night (June 4) by pounding Forest City, 21-4 in five innings in Forest City. Humboldt improved to 6-3 with the win while Forest City slipped to 5-2 overall.

Humboldt dropped their North Central Conference opener at Hampton Monday night (June 3), falling 10-9 to Hampton Dumont CAL. Owen Newton went 3-for-4 at bat with a home run and 4 RBI. Colby Clarken took the loss pitching as he threw the final one-third of an inning in the sixth. Jacob Thurm pitched five innings before Cade Witzke entered in the sixth and threw 12 pitches.

Humboldt returns to action on June 10 when they host Algona. The Wildcats will play Winterset at Principal Park in Des Moines on June 11 at 2 p.m.
