Humboldt falls to Fort Dodge, 6-1

In a battle of ranked teams, the No. 2 (Class 3A) ranked Humboldt softball team lost their first game of the season Friday night (June 7) at No. 3 ranked ( Class 5A) Fort Dodge, 6-1. Jori Hajek hit a triple and scored on an error on the play for Humboldt’s only run of the game. HHS had 5 hits and 1 error. Ellie Jacobson scattered 8 hits and struck out 3. Humboldt is now 12-1 overall. Fort Dodge slipped to 9-2.

Humboldt 11, Belmond-Klemme 1
Humboldt collected nine hits, including a home run and double by Jori Hajek, to power past Belmond-Klemme, 11-1 in five innings on June 6 in Humboldt. Ellie Jacobson pitched all five innings for the Wildcats in the non-conference game. She allowed two hits and struck out 10. The victory moved Humboldt to 12-0 overall on the season.

Humboldt girls dump Cowgirls in 5 innings, 12-1
Humboldt moved to 3-0 in conference play, 11-0 overall by shutting out Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, 12-1 in 5 innings on Wednesday night (June 5) in Clarion.
Ellie Jacobson pitched a 2-hitter and struck out 9. Jori Hajek was 4-for-4 at the plate, Mady Lange 3-for-3 and Claire Varangkounh 3-for-3. Ashlyn Clark also singled.

Wildcat girls in 6-1 victory over Emmetsburg
Humboldt’s varsity softball team improved to 10-0 on the season by stopping Emmetsburg 6-1 on June 4 at Emmetsburg. The Wildcats got a 4-hit, 10- strikeout performance from pitcher Ellie Jacobson and four timely hits at the plate in this non-conference game.

Humboldt rips Bulldogs 11-1
The Humboldt got back into conference action Monday night (June 3) at Hampton and rolled to an 11-1 victory over Hampton-Dumont-CAL.
Humboldt was led at the plate by Jori Hajek and Addie Birdsell who each hit a homer. Ellie Jacobson earned the win pitching.

Humboldt will host Algona on Monday, June 10.
