Humboldt girls edge Lisbon, 2-1

In a battle of ranked teams, Humboldt scored two runs in the ninth inning to edge Class 1A power Lisbon, 2-1 on Saturday (June 15) in Humboldt. The Wildcats, ranked No. 2 in Class 3A, improved to 17-1 overall on the season against Lisbon, ranked No. 2 in its class. Ellie Jacobson pitched a 4-hitter for the Wildcats with seven strikeouts. Humboldt totaled nine hits as Jori Hajek, Jacobson, Kyah Arnold and Mady Lange each hit a double.

Humboldt girls top Southeast Valley, 5-1
Humboldt's varsity softball team kept up its winning ways by stopping Southeast Valley, 5-1 on Friday night (June 14) in Humboldt. Ellie Jacobson pitched a no-hitter with nine strikeouts to lead Humboldt. Jacobson and Carlie Thompson each hit a double and Mady Lange singled twice for Humboldt, which moved to 15-1 overall on the season.

Humboldt girls bury Forest City, 15-1
Humboldt pushed it season record to 15-1 overall in a lopsided 15-0 victory at Forest City on Thursday night (June 13). Humboldt scored 11 runs in the first inning to end the game after 3 innings. The Wildcats clubbed 13 hits.

Blank Cadets 12-0
Humboldt notched another North Central Conference softball victory Wednesday night (June 12) by shutting out Iowa Falls-Alden, 12-0 in 3 innings. The victory moved the Wildcats to 14-1 overall, 5-0 in conference play.

Wildcat softball team downs Algona, 4-1
The 2nd ranked Humboldt softball team got back on the winning track Monday night by stopping Algona, 4-1, in a North Central Conference game in Humboldt.

Ellie Jacobson pitched a 1-hitter and Humboldt totaled 5 hits. Jacobson homered and drove in 3 runs and Carlie Thompson had 2 hits to spark the Wildcats, who move to 13-1 overall, 4-0 in the North Central Conference.

The Wildcats will host Fort Dodge St. Edmond on Monday, June 17.
