Wildcat boys shutout Spirit Lake, 12-0

The Humboldt baseball team ended its week by shutting out Spirit Lake, 12-0 in five innings in a non-conference game in Humboldt on June 13. Humboldt, 10-5 overall on the season, scored four runs in each of the first, second and third innings to end the game early. Michael Brightly earned the win pitching for the Wildcats.

Humboldt whips Cadets, 14-4
Cade Witzke pitched six strong innings to lead the Humboldt baseball team past Iowa Falls-Alden, 14-4 Wednesday night (June 12) in Humboldt. The victory improved the Wildcats' record to 9-5 overall, 3-1 in the North Central Conference.

Winterset tops Wildcats at Principal Park
Winterset scored 7 runs in the fourth and fifth innings to upend Humboldt, 9-1 in non-conference baseball inside Principal Park in Des Moines on Tuesday (June 11). Hudson Gargano took the loss pitching for the Wildcats. Owen Newton and Michael Brightly each had 2 hits to lead Humboldt. Winterset moved to 6-4 while Humboldt slipped to 8-5.

Newton’s double in bottom of 7th lifts Humboldt past Algona, 3-2
Owen Newton’s 2-run double with 1 out in the bottom of the 7th inning lifted the Humboldt baseball team past Algona, 3-2 Monday night in Humboldt.

Jacob Thurm earned the win on the mound for the Wildcats, who improved to 8-4 overall, 2-1 in conference play. Algona slipped to 3-7 overall, 1-2 in NCC action.

Humboldt returns to action at home on Monday, June 17 against Fort Dodge St. Edmond in conference action.
