Humboldt baseball team goes 0-2 in ELC tourney

The Humboldt baseball team’s overall season record slipped to 11-8 after the Wildcats went 0-2 in the ELC tournament on June 22 in Estherville. Humboldt fell to Okoboji (6-3) and Estherville-Lincoln Central (7-4).

Humboldt downs St. Edmond 6-3
The Humboldt High baseball team got back on the winning track Friday night (June 21) at home by rallying past Fort Dodge St. Edmond, 6-3 in a North Central Conference game played in Humboldt. It was a makeup game from the postponement on June 17.

The Wildcats scored three runs in each of the third and sixth innings to upend St. Edmond. Cade Witzke earned the win pitching for Humboldt. The Wildcats improved to 11-6 overall, 4-2 in the NCC.

Lions edge Humboldt, 3-2
Humboldt battled North Central Conference foe Clear Lake for seven innings Wednesday night (June 19) and came up on the short end of a 3-2 final score in a game played at Clear Lake. The loss sent Humboldt to 10-6 overall, 3-2 in the NCC. Clear Lake improved to 8-7 and 4-1. It was a pitching duel between Humboldt's Jacob Thurm and Mack Adams, both throwing complete games.

Humboldt returns home on Monday, June 24, to host Hampton-Dumont-CAL in NCC action.
