Wildcat softball team in 9-0 victory at Garrigan

Humboldt bounced back from a loss the previous night by shutting out Algona Bishop Garrigan, 9-0 in Algona on Thursday, June 20. Ellie Jacobson pitched a 1-hitter and struck out 13 to lead Humboldt. The Wildcats clubbed 15 hits, led by Carlie Thompson and Kendal Clark with three each. Humboldt moved to 18-2 overall.

Wildcats upset at Clear Lake, 4-1
The No. 3 ranked (Class 3A) Humboldt softball team suffered their first conference loss of the season Wednesday night (June 19) at Clear Lake as the host Lions pulled out a 4-1 victory over Humboldt. Ellie Jacobson pitched six innings of 8-hit ball with 2 strikeouts. Claire Varangkounh was 2-for-2 to pace Humboldt at the plate. The Wildcats fall to 17-2 overall, 5-1 in the NCC.

The Wildcats' home games with Fort Dodge St. Edmond on June 17 were postponed due to weather. The varsity game will now be played on Tuesday, July 2, 6 p.m. at Rogers Park north of Fort Dodge.

The Wildcats' games at Boone on Friday and Saturday in the Pella Christian tournament were all rained out and will not be made up. Humboldt returns to action at home on Monday, June 24, against Hampton-Dumont-CAL.
