Wildcat baseball team edges Clear Lake, 6-5

The Humboldt baseball team won its seventh straight game and picked up another key conference win by edging Clear Lake, 6-5 Monday night (July 8) in Humboldt.

The Wildcats scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the lead for good.

Joey Busse went 3-for-3 at bat and Michael Brightly pitched seven innings of seven-hit ball with two strikeouts aid the Wildcats, who improved to 18-8 overall, 9-2 in the North Central Conference.

Humboldt will host Manson-Northwest Webster on July 9 and Webster City on July 10.

The Wildcats play at Spencer on Friday, July 12.
