Humboldt girls in 10-0 romp in regional opener

Ellie Jacobson pitched a no-hitter, struck out 10 and went 3-for-3 at the plate, including a home run, to power the Humboldt softball team past Sheldon, 10-0 in four and one-half innings Wednesday night (July 10) in a Class 3A first round regional tournament game in Humboldt.

Humboldt, 28-2 overall, will host Algona (15-10) in a regional semifinal on Friday, July 12, at 7 p.m. Algona advanced by edging Estherville-Lincoln Central, 2-1 in eight innings in Wednesday's first game in Humboldt.
