Wildcat boys edge Algona, Storm Lake

The Humboldt baseball team ended its regular season by stopping Storm Lake, 8-4 in non-conference play on July 16 in Humboldt. The victory gave Humboldt a 21-11 overall record.

Humboldt finished 11-3 and runner-up in the North Central Conference standings by edging the Algona Bulldogs, 7-5 in their final NCC game of the regular season on Monday, July 15. Webster City (12-2) won the league title outright by beating Iowa Falls-Alden.

Humboldt begins post-season tournament play on Friday, July 19, in a 5 p.m. game against Webster City at Slater.
