All-State softball honors for Humboldt’s Jacobson, Thompson

Jacobson 1st team, Thompson 3rd team
North Central Conference softball champion Humboldt had three players named to the all-state and all-district teams.
Humboldt pitcher Ellie Jacobson was named first-team All-State in Class 3A. Teammate Carlie Thompson was named third-team All-State. Both players were juniors.
Jacobson has now been chosen first-team all-state three years in a row. Thompson was a first-team pick in 2018.
Jacobson and Thompson also joined teammate Mady Lange on the Class 3A Central All-District team.
The trio helped the Wildcats, who went 13-1 to win their fourth straight NCC crown, finish the year ranked No. 3 in Class 3A and compile a sizzling 28-3 overall record under 23-year head coach Doug Van Pelt.
