Wildcat runners sweep titles at IFA

The Humboldt High cross country teams swept both team titles in the Iowa Falls-Alden Invitational held on Thursday, Aug. 29 at Mayne's Grove recreation site.

Quinton Orr's first-place finish in 16:28.32 paced the Humboldt boys. Eric Wittrock was third in 17:25.33 while Devon Coon ran fifth and Trevor Jacobson was eighth. Nolan Jergens was 14th, Carter Theesfeld 22nd and Jackson Chambers 38th to round out Humboldt's varsity lineup.

Bryce Gidel was second in 20:02.30 to pace the Wildcat girls. Brett Harklau ran fourth in 22:39.52, Kirstyn Beaman was fifth in 22:40.01. Allison Hoag was 22nd, Grace Smith 26th, Shelby Hayden 30th and Erin Wittrock 39th to round out the varsity scoring for the Humboldt girls.

Humboldt returns to action at Webster City on Tuesday, Sept. 5, starting at 5 p.m.
