HHS volleyball team 3rd in Humboldt Invite

Humboldt's No. 10 ranked (Class 3A) varsity volleyball team opened their season in strong fashion last Saturday (Aug. 31) by placing third in the Humboldt Invitational Tournament.
Humboldt went 4-2 overall in matches. They posted victories over Grand View Christian, Fort Dodge, South Central Calhoun (No. 8 in Class 2A) and Emmetsburg. Humboldt lost to No. 2 ranked and defending state champion Carroll Kuemper (2-1) and to ranked Spirit Lake (2-1) to end the day.
Humboldt returns to action on Thursday, Sept. 5, in a conference match at Clear Lake. Humboldt will be off until starting a busy week by hosting Fort Dodge and Gilbert on Sept. 9. They travel to Storm Lake on Sept. 10 and host Algona on Sept. 12.
