Humboldt County is having difficulty getting work completed on the communications tower between the Humboldt County Law Enforcement Center and Humboldt City Hall.
The county has a $63,727.80 bill from Motorola Solutions Inc. for tower work, associated with the work that was completed this summer. The county also held two other bills of $16,591.32 and $17,089.98. It was believed these sums were maintenance agreement fees, one for 2018-19, and another for 2019-20.
That’s not all. The Commission has a bill from Motorola for $100,000 for payment on money borrowed for the tower and digital communications upgrade that was approved in late 2017/early 2018. The agreement said the county would not have to make a payment for two years. That payment is now due, the first of 10 installments over the next decade.
