Mustangs hold off Humboldt, 17-12

The Humboldt High football team battled Dallas Center-Grimes down to the final minute of their annual homecoming contest Friday night but fell short to the Mustangs, 17-12 in a Class 3A District 2 game on Mason Maach Field in Humboldt.

Jamison Heinz scored on touchdown runs of 31 and 67 yards, respectively to lead Humboldt.

Humboldt is 1-5 overall, 1-1 in Class 3A District 2. The Wildcats host Webster City in their final home game of the regular season on Oct. 11.
