HHS girls go 3-2 in Mason City tournament

The Humboldt volleyball team posted a 3-2 record in the Mason City tournament on Saturday, Oct. 12, to move to 26-5 overall on the season.

Humboldt beat Mason City (21-16, 21-11), Clear Lake (21-17, 21-5) and Central Springs (21-9, 26-24). They lost to Waverly-Shell Rock (21-18, 21-15) and Osage (21-18, 21-11).
Jori Hajek led Humboldt with 41 kills on the day while Emily Zaugg had 20. Deni McDaniel had 88 assists. Carlie Thompson made 53 digs.

HHS GIRLS SWEEP ST. EDMOND IN NCC VOLLEYBALL
Humboldt moved to 23-3 overall on the season, 5-1 in the North Central Conference Thursday night (Oct. 10) by sweeping Fort Dodge St. Edmond in 3 sets in Fort Dodge, 25-11, 25-8 and 25-18.

Humboldt's final week of the regular season has the Wildcats visiting Webster City on Oct. 15 and hosting Algona Garrigan on Oct. 17.

The Wildcats open Class 3A Regional tournament play on Oct. 23 when they host Cherokee in a first round game. The winner will play Algona or Southeast Valley on Oct. 29 in Humboldt. The other half of Region 2 has Carroll Kuemper hosting Greene County and OABCIG hosting Sioux City Heelan.
