WILDCAT BOYS ARE NCC CHAMPS!!!

Led by individual champion Quinton Orr, along with second and third-place finishes from Eric Wittrock and Devon Coon, respectively, the Humboldt boys' cross country team ran away from the field to win the team title in the North Central Conference meet held Tuesday evening (Oct. 15) in Webster City.

Humboldt finished with 29 points to easily outdistance runner-up Webster City, which totaled 63 points. Fort Dodge St. Edmond was third with 78 and Clear Lake fourth at 87. Algona (129), IFA-AGWSR (159), Hampton-Dumont-CAL (200) and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows (206) round out the team scoring.

The Wildcats also got a top-10 finish from Trevor Jacobson, who ran ninth. Carter Theesfeld was 14th and Jackson Chambers 24th. Orr blazed with a time of 16:19. Wittrock ran 17:20 and Coon 17:25.

It was Humboldt's third team title in four years. Next action for the Wildcats will be the state qualifying meet on Thursday, Oct. 24, at home at Sheldon Park.
