Tigers claw past Humboldt, 45-6

The Carroll Tigers took a 21-6 halftime lead and went on to beat Humboldt, 45-6 Friday night (Oct. 18) in a Class 3A District 2 football game at Carroll.

The victory dropped Humboldt's record to 1-7 overall, 1-3 in district play. Carroll, 5-3 overall, 4-0 in district play, will meet Dallas Center-Grimes on Oct. 25 in a game that will determine the district champion. DCG defeated Webster City Friday night, 41-27 to move to 7-1 overall, 4-0 in district play.

Humboldt's only score came on a long kickoff return by Jamison Heinz for a touchdown in the first quarter.

Humboldt closes out its regular season at Perry on Oct. 25.
