Wildcat girls' season ends in regional final

Humboldt's Emily Zaugg (6) congratulates teammate Lily Groat after the Wildcats scored a point early in their regional final match with Carroll Kuemper in Storm Lake on Nov. 4. The celebration was short-lived, however, as Humboldt fell to the Knights in three sets to end their season. Defending Class 3A state volleyball champion Carroll Kuemper proved to be too much Monday night (Nov. 4) for Humboldt as the Knights clinched a return trip to state by turning back Humboldt in 3 sets in a regional final in Storm Lake.

The Knights (36-4) downed Humboldt by scores of 25-16, 25-17 and 25-20.

The loss ends Humboldt's season at 30-6 overall.
