Girls wrestling begins at Humboldt

Female wrestling is taking off across the United States and it is now a reality at Humboldt High School.
This year Humboldt is joining a large number of schools across the state to field a girls’ club team. Humboldt head coach Chad Beaman and his staff ended the first week of pre-season practice with 15 athletes.
“If you had asked me five years ago if this would become a reality today, I don’t know that I could have said yes,” Beaman said. “Wrestling for young women has really started moving forward.”
