A group of nine Humboldt High School graduates got together for a hike late this fall, but it was no ordinary hike.
They traveled to Grand Canyon National Park and hiked the famous Rim to Rim trek, a 23.9 mile hike from the North Rim to the South Rim. It took four days and three nights, camping along the way.
About 18 months of planning went into the backpacking trip. The nine classmates included five from the Humboldt High School class of 1988, three from 1987 and one from 1991.
“As you might expect, lots of Humboldt memories were shared along the way. We all reconnected in wonderful ways through our lives, families, challenges, emotions and more. To say the least, this was a trip like reality TV, yet every bit of it was for the positive,” Bradley Block, who helped organize the trip, said.
