The Humboldt wrestling team earned the school’s first trip to the state dual tournament by winning a Class 2A regional dual in Atlantic Tuesday night (Feb. 11).
The Wildcats defeated Van Meter/Earlham 45-30 in the first match and edged Atlantic 35-29 in the final. Atlantic beat Red Oak 46-29 in the other opening match.
State dual action will take place at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines on Feb. 19. Humboldt will meet No. 1 seed West Delaware in the first round starting at 9 a.m.
