Justin Hanson is looking forward to being back on the mat when the state wrestling championship takes place on Feb. 22 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
This time the four-time state placewinner for Humboldt High School will be one of the newest inductees into the Iowa High School Athletic Association Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Hanson, a 2004 Humboldt High School graduate, won two state championships for the Wildcats, winning in 2003 (125) and 2004 (135). He also placed third as a freshman in 2001 (103) and runner-up in 2002 (112).
“I feel honored. I’m blessed to have all the support I’ve been given, through all the family and friends in the community who have supported me. I feel blessed,” Hanson said during a recent interview with the Independent.
