Humboldt High freshman Jase Goodell’s hopes of medaling in the Class 2A state wrestling tournament fell short on Friday. Goodell lost a 10-4 decision to Perry sophomore Cole Nelson in the consolation round. Goodell had bounced back from an opening round loss by winning his wrestleback match in the Class 2A state wrestling tournament on Thursday (Feb. 20) at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

Goodell lost by fall in 3:05 to Carter Littlefield of Jesup in their 113-pound opener. Goodell came back strong with a pin in 1:05 over Zachry Klahsen of Aplington-Parkersburg/Grundy Center.
