It’s now official.
The Iowa High School Athletic Association released the much-anticipated 2020 season football schedules.
Humboldt’s schedule will feature five road games and four home games with the first four games being non-district contests.
The Wildcats open their season at Algona on Friday, Aug. 28. Humboldt hosts Iowa Falls-Alden on Sept. 4. Clear Lake visits Humboldt on Sept. 11. Humboldt’s final non-district game is Sept. 18 at Storm Lake.
Humboldt begins Class 3A District 2 action at Boone on Sept. 25. The Wildcats will host Webster City on Oct. 2 for Homecoming. Humboldt visits Ballard Huxley on Oct. 9 and travels to Mason City on Oct. 16. The Wildcats end their season at home against Gilbert on Oct. 23.
Humboldt head coach Derrick Elman, who will begin his third season leading the Wildcats, is happy to see four North Central Conference schools on the schedule.
“I’m excited about our schedule. I think the fact we get to play four North Central Conference teams is exciting. That makes it enjoyable. Our kids are competing against kids from other conference schools that they get to see during the course of the year in other sports,” Humboldt head coach Derrick Elman said.
