Spring sports schedule changes for Iowa high schools

The Iowa High School Athletic Association and the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union have announced a new schedule for the suspended spring sports season.
Because of the Coronavirus pandemic, school has been suspended until April 30. Classes will tentatively resume on Friday, May 1.
To stay in line with the school schedule, the IHSAA and the IGHSAU have announced all spring sports will resume on May 1 with the first competition date on May 4.
Post-season for boys’ golf will be May 26 for sectionals and June 1 for districts. State meets will take place June 8-9.
Post-season for girls and boys track and field will be May 28, with the state meet scheduled for June 4-6 in Des Moines.
Post-season for girls’ golf takes place May 29 and June 5, with the state meets to be held June 11-12.
Girls’ soccer post-season dates are June 4, 5, 9 and 11 with the state tournament set for June 16, 18 and 20. Boys’ soccer post-season dates are June 8, 10 and 12 with the state tournament set for June 15, 17 and 19.
Team tennis for boys has post-season taking place May 23 and 30 with the state meet on June 9. Individual tennis for boys has post-season scheduled for May 20 with the state meet on June 5-6.
Team tennis for girls has May 23 and 30 as post-season lead-up dates with the state meet on June 9. Individual tennis for girls has lead-up dates on May 20 with the state meet on June 5-6.
Post-season host sites and state championship events venues are currently set as previously announced. Any Changes or updates will be announced as they become available.
The IGHSAU and the IHSAA have not set a maximum or minimum number for competition dates within this adjusted schedule. Previously stated competition limits apply for each sport. Member schools may determine their own regular seasons, which are best suited to their school schedules and activities.
Golf post-season dates may vary due to course availability.
Member schools with contracted dates or facilities should contact those partners regarding lost or potentially lost agreements. Please contact the IGHSAU and the IHSAA administrators for more information if necessary.
