Two gatherings planned in community Friday and Saturday

From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
We have been in communication with the organizers of two events that will be going on in our community Friday and Saturday, June 5-6.
Friday’s event will a peaceful protest at Bicknell Park in Humboldt at 7 p.m.
“We have expressed the need they take proper Covid-19 precautions. Both organizers have assured us they have taken steps to provide hand sanitizer, encourage everyone to wear masks and stress that everyone social distance,” Humboldt County Sheriff Dean Kruger reports.
“In reference to tonight's event (Friday), the organizer stressed to us this is not an antigovernment rally. It is merely a platform to make everyone aware there are issues they believe need to be addressed in our country. They have no intentions of leaving Bicknell Park. They have not invited anyone from outside of Humboldt to attend or speak at the event,” Kruger said.
“Saturday night’s event will be by car only. They have no intention of walking or marching. They have also not invited anyone from outside Humboldt to attend. They merely want to make a pass through Humboldt and Dakota City and return to the high school. They anticipate the route to take 30 minutes from start to finish,” Kruger said.
“The organizer for tonight's event wanted to stress to us that there has been no communication or co-planning with Saturday night's organizer. Each are separate and independent events.
“Both organizers were adamant they want their event to be peaceful,” the Humboldt County Sheriff said.
The sheriff asks that people in the community respect the first amendment rights of those who choose to participant. Any participation on the part of the public is entirely voluntary.
