Wildcats handle Storm Lake, 28-7

Caden Matson passed for three touchdowns and ran for another to spark the Humboldt football team past Storm Lake, 28-7 Friday night (Sept. 4) in Humboldt.

Mason teamed up with Gabe Gidel for a 43-yard scoring pass play in the first quarter and hooked up with Will Orness for a 20-yard scoring pass play in the second quarter. Matson and Gidel hooked up for a 30-yard pass play in the third quarter. With 9:38 left in the fourth, Matson sprinted around the left side for a seven-yard touchdown run. Max Mason booted all four extra points for Humboldt, which improved to 2-0 overall on the season.

Humboldt begins Class 3A District 2 action at Boone on Friday, Sept. 11.
