Humboldt girls 1st, boys 3rd in Eagle Grove

Humboldt girls placed first and the Wildcat boys were third in the team scoring Tuesday (Oct. 6) in the annual Dick Bell Cross Country Invitational in Eagle Grove.

The Wildcat girls finished with 65 points to finish ahead of runner-up Emmetsburg at 69. Joslyn Orr finished 10th in 23:14, Allison Hoag was 11th in 23:22 and Kali Beaman 12th in 23:32 to pace the Wildcat girls.

Humboldt's boys finished with 60 points. Clear Lake won with 50 and Webster City also tallied 50. Eric Wittrock led the Wildcat boys with a first-place finish in 17:05 while Jackson Chambers was ninth in 18:37. Nolan Jergens was 15th in 19:04.

Next action for Humboldt is the North Central Conference meet at Clear Lake on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
