About two-thirds of the Yacht Club Trailers manufacturing facility is being demolished and will soon be replaced.
This comes after a devastating fire that started about noon on July 27. The fire started in the paint line and spread from there.
Company CEO Rod Harklau said they hope to be utilizing the rebuilt plant by early February. Sande Construction is the general contractor on the project.
Yacht Club was in the process of purchasing the former Dodgen Industries property across the street when the fire struck, and they went ahead and finalized the purchase right away.
“Having that space available was a blessing from God. If we didn’t have that option we may not have been able to re-open,” Harklau said. “We’ve been able to go from about 10 percent capacity up to about 75 percent today. Our orders haven’t slowed down. We’re thankful our customers are willing to be patient and stay with us as we rebuild.”
