Humboldt wrestling team buries Clear Lake, 72-6

The Humboldt wrestling team improved to 2-2 in North Central Conference duals Thursday night (Jan. 7) by burying the Clear Lake Lions, 72-6.

Humboldt, 9-3 overall, got pins from Jayden Gargano at 106, Dylan Vaudt at 113, Dusty Pate at 126, Colby Clarken at 138, Joe Weydert at 145, Fletcher Satern at 160, Christian Alcala at 170 and Tanner McKimmey at 182.

Jase Goodell picked up a 9-5 victory over the Lions' Sam Nelson in a battle of ranked wrestlers at 132. Brady Marsh was a 5-2 winner at 285 pounds. Winning by forfeit for HHS was Colten Coodell at 220, Christian Lee at 195 and Jordan Jensen at 152.

Wildcat westlers go 4-1 at Central Elkader
The Humboldt wrestling team posted a 4-1 record to finish runner-up in the Central Elkader dual tournament on Jan. 2.

Humboldt defeated Oelwein (60-15), St. Ansgar (66-9), Clayton Ridge (84-0), Waterloo West (59-20) and was edged by Denver-Tripoli 39-36.

Humboldt will travel to Atlantic on Saturday, Jan. 9, for the Dyer Duals.
