The Humboldt-Dakota City Noon Kiwanis in conjunction with the city of Humboldt Recreation Department will be sponsoring an Easter Egg Hunt/candy distribution event this Saturday, March 27, at 10 a.m.
The event will be outside in the east parking area of the Humboldt Recreation Center, 1501 Wildcat Road, weather permitting. The rain location will be inside the Rec Center.
Participants will be divided into groups according to grade in school. There will be an area for preschoolers, another for kindergarten and first graders and another for second and third graders.
Face coverings are required and social distancing will be observed. Because of the pandemic, children will be given bags of candy rather than racing out to retrieve candy. There will be specialty prizes and gifts from area merchants.
The Kiwanis Club is also giving away a large Easter Basket and a children’s bicycle for each age group. The Easter Bunny will be there for photos with children.
Again, the free community event will be this Saturday, March 27, at 10 a.m. at the Humboldt Recreation Center. Parking is limited, so people attending are encouraged to use the Humboldt High School and Humboldt Middle School parking areas.
