Wildcat girls' golf team goes 3-1 in first week of season

The Humboldt girls' golf team opened their season on April 5 by topping Spencer and falling to Algona Bishop Garrigan in a non-conference meet at Humboldt Country Club.

Humboldt totaled 214 strokes. Garrigan shot 183 and Spencer had 229. Nora Carlson carded a 44 to pace Humboldt. Annie Burns and Anna Berka each had 42 to lead Garrigan and take medalist honors. Spencer was paced by Mo McDermott and Sadie Nelson each with a 56.

Humboldt visited Pocahontas Area on Friday, April 9, and won 214-223 over the Indians. Nora Carlson was meet medalist with a 44 to lead Humboldt. Noel Hamand was next with a 54.

The Wildcats resume play at home on Friday, April 23, when they host Clear Lake and Algona in conference action.
