Wildcat girls' soccer team goes 2-1 in opening week

The Humboldt girls' soccer team went 2-1 in their first week of the season.

Humboldt traveled to Belmond on April 5 and swept the host Broncos of Belmond-Klemme 4-0. Yuli Orona paced Humboldt by scoring two goals in the contest.

Humboldt hosted Mason City on Tuesday, April 6, and fell to the Mohawks, 9-0. Mason City took a 5-0 first half lead and never looked back.

Humboldt visited Storm Lake on April 8 and won 3-0 over the Tornadoes. Grace Smith, Ashley Carvajel and Ava McIntire each scored a goal for Humboldt in the win.

Humboldt hosted East Sac County on April 13 and fell 4-0, to have their record even at 2-2 on the season.

The Wildcats host Aplington-Parkersburg on April 22. Greene County visits Humboldt on April 23. Humboldt hosts Clear Lake on April 26.
